The Impact Social Media has given to Video Gamers

Ever since the spark of video games in the 1980’s it has continued to be one of the fastest, developing industries that the world has experienced (Vedant, 2016). More recently in the past two decades, biggest fans, best gamers of the industry discovered the idea to begin YouTube channels. Too Upload regular weekly videos, playing video games as content. This connected a community of gamers you see online today. Gamers turned competitive in number of weekly views, best content and how large your channels, fans base grew in comparison to everyone else’s.

For over the last decade the YouTuber with most subscriptions has been Pewdiepie, for those who have been living under a rock or are over thirty years old, he is a funny, Swedish gamer currently 108 million subscribers. A favourite of mine during his early years on YouTube. I remember bad days at school, I practically ran home to watch more videos. They gave me feelings of reassurance and warmth that was needed due to my emotional state. If you have not already, surf his channel. You will see where I am coming from. He really cares about gaming, not only from the following he has but mainly due to the fact he makes each video full of fun and humour.

In today’s world, it’s even easier to try out web-based gaming. Rather than going through all trials and tribulations of what content is allowed on YouTube channels, you could instead make your own Twitch account. A more universal social platform unlike YouTube its purpose, only meant for gamers. Anyone can get paid through PayPal after affiliating with Twitch then reaching a certain number of followers. Now can you understand the growth of gaming throughout years of social media? The potential for greatness is more accessible than ever.

Business Cards

During an online session, the class was tasked with researching how to create our personal photography business cards to open any  freelancing opportunities also to show professionalism in places like in university.

We were given two websites Moo.com and Vistaprint.com I preferred Moo because the site was easy to understand.

If I could title the genre I find my self in the most, it would probably be documentary or street but I’d like to call my self a photographer of cultures.

I’ll use green for text because I like that colour more than the rest of the options.

So far I’ve placed in the necessary information, currently figuring out how to make a logo, which is put in the rectangle below.Screen Shot 2020-05-07 at 12.04.33.png

https://www.dafont.com/

Quick attempt at a logo.

Photography logo.jpg

PHOTOSHOP LOGO HERE!

I want to change both fonts, lower one (photogarphy) to graffiti and top one my name to a signiture font that I’ll download then do add a creative logo from photoshop going with this.

Graffiti to me represents all culture as you can find it in any also culture is what drives me to be better at photography.

Back side design

I am either choosing one or three out of my collections but they all will be street, documentray or culture imagery.

FMP Blog In Order

All the blogs for the 2nd years’ FMP.

First Draft Proposal/Local

Since not reaching the full potential in my project “Genres” I’ve abanded my old plan of live band shoots for the FMP. This continued idea will expand diversely where I’m able to include interesting activities and jobs people invest in for sometimes life.

FMP’s goal is 6-10 shoots consisting of strangers stories that define the culture they live in. The title I decided will be ‘Local’. I’ll venture out contacting people, some never meeting before, in a professional courteous manner. I hope to gain confidence in socializing during this time, to be prepared for university.

Extending my artist influences in areas of documentary, social and street photography will help add gimmicks to my pieces which will go alongside the main concept. Markov’s concept will be developed by well-accomplished photographers that have relation to him e.g. Vivian Maier, Richard Billingham, Alec Soth, also altered by my own style.

I’ve made a list of possible people with an era of oddness about them or that play a part in the general community. I’ll invent surveys for each person that surrounds questions on their individuality and record their answers to add it into evaluations.

I plan to produce my work in book form with text revealing stories behind the colored imagery as it’ll suit perfectly.

My budget will be determined during the planning process.

Local Plans

In this blog, I’ll continue to add more ideas for shoots before also throughout the final term. Each idea plan will differ in prepared and unprepared ways. A few are out of the blue approaching strangers in local areas and searching then asking in work environments. Some will be friends doing interesting creative topics sometimes in their personal domains. The rest are friends of friends who also do intriguing activities.

I’ll be practicing on my photography by learning new tactics in books from the library and internet resources. I will also spend time improving specific strategies before a particular event. for instance, I’m doing circus day at some point so I am getting ready for that by capturing two subjects doing a couple activities. So I am ready to take the fast initial shots with fewer amounts of shutter speed blur.

One other method that will be used for the majority of the concept is focusing on one perhaps two models in portrait angle with whatever expression makes them comfortable followed with a blank face shot. I am read up and making notes on basic ways of capturing portraits, perfect background, rule of thirds and focusing of the eyes. I’ve also added methods from famous photographers such as Platon who is renowned for his portraiture, I”ll inhabit his skills of decency toward his subjects.

I cannot predict what the overall response to my imagery will be on the day of the summer show. Separated as single photographs or as the end result product (Book) but I’d like them to be thought-provoking to our individual questions toward society we live in.

I’ll use unique surveys for every shoot I do. Loads of questions will differ depending on set circumstances, of what I’m shooting but to develop the project more I’ve figured out an inquiry that can be added to all surveys. I thought due to where the country/world is in its current situations (Brexit, Prime Minister, Wars, Environmental issues) and the fact my project is based around culture. As the last query, I could ask: How do you feel Devon’s culture is coping in this worlds’/countries’ present state? (I am still working what wording I could use for the final question but will reveal it when I have).

I am capturing my imagery in many angels Portraiture, Landscapes, close-ups of still life and many more as the project develops’ from shoot to shoot.

I am conducting the shoots for my FMP by breathing in and out the intriguing points within stories/activities of individual people and creative groups to later be captured in the amount of time I am given. All my models and there chosen topics play a part in the community or others simply apart of society.

I must give good examples of these seven units in my project.

1. Context/Concept

2. research – Artist skilled in Documentary, Dmitry Markov, Tom Barnes, Deirdre O Callaghan, Richard Billingham. Artist skilled in Portraiture, Platon, Anton Corbijn more… Artist skilled in Street Photography, Vivian Maier, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Charles Reynell Mohun (great grandad). In each genre find a new photographer local or not.

3. Problem Solving – Explain how I struggled with the fisheye lens at the beginning didn’t realize you had to crop and was worried whether I’d ever figure it out.

4. Planning and Production

5. Practical skills – Practice/Experiments – A portraiture Perpareration/Improvement. B Fast Movement Prevent shutter speed blur. C Survey Practice. D Sigma 10mm f2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye lens. E Nikon Speedlight SB-700 Flash Gun.

6. Evaluation and Reflection

7. Presentation – Book form Lookup options of how.

Ideas

I have invented 24 shoot scenarios on iPhone notes which I understand is more than enough the difficulty is in choosing the right ones best suitable for my concept.

  1. One friend (Morwenna) has done circus skills with a bunch of associates who are all tremendously talented and dress as zany bizarre characters. They apparently give great performances with quirky outlandish personalities. From what Morwenna showed me on Facebook I’d estimate there are about 20 people maybe more who all teach circus skills to children some with special needs and others who are homeschooled.

They go by the aliases Cirque du Ciel or Airfish Circus Works Devoran. It includes a strong man with a handlebar moustache, clownish people who can juggle, diabolo, lots of gymnastics who have there own show and many more talents. The Practice happens at a big warehouse in Cornwall, Truro this is my set location also I have two dates arranged.

2. I’m hoping to go bristol soon to visit my brother (James) to get more understanding of the city. I thought up 2 ideas for when I’m there. Idea 1 is visiting my brother’s trendy barbershop. I can take images of styling hair then afterward a few more shots around the shop. It would be good to do a survey on both my brother and his boss about the business. 2nd Idea is getting in touch with a phenomenal tattooist called Steve Mckenzie before ending half term, using the same technique as James’ shoot. Both shoots I’ll come prepared with an independent survey.

Talk to James and Steve before the end of the half-term week…

3. The part of Tavistock’s stake culture I know. I have three mates who know each other and are all really into their skating. When deciding on a date I plan to ask them if they can bring as much of their skating posse as possible more the better I’d like a happy family fun gang crew atmosphere.

People to ask Kieran, Jack, Smurf and try to arrange for during half-term.

4. This shoot was planned during project Genres. I’ll arrive at Tavistock Market on any Tuesday just before 9 am. To capture workers setting up their stalls for the day. Whilst arranging for permission from the stallholders to attain their portraits I feel this will be a good opportunity to find out about their personalities and day to day working lives. I already have a survey from the last term.

Budget

Dictaphone – £22.00

Local Time/Action Plan

I will add the dates of shoots to my iPhone calendar.

Ask for help with what equipment for my different shoots that would help my concept?

Research – Organised times for exhibitions

Tony Homer – Paintings and Prints: Monday 2nd March – Friday 27th March 2020 – Tavistock Wharf. To gather Primary Research.

Practice Shoots  – Saturday 15th, the location is an old run-down train track bridge to practice A. Portraiture takings as it’ll be recurring in some places throughout the project. B. Fast movements with sports props like a football, basketball, frisbee because of Idea 1 entails loads of gymnastics, materials being thrown and caught.

Plans have been moved to the later date of the 19th with a new model Benedict who does juggling. Location is still the old run-down train track bridge. I am able to undergo both A and B practice techniques with one less model. Technique B which is capturing movement with less shutter speed noise is to get ready for Idea 1 circus people.

Practice Technique C

I’ve Figured that can do a practice interview as well, before starting the shoot, technique C. This is in preparation for the many surveys, I’ll be doing throughout the whole project. I will record the answers with a dictaphone.

Practice Survey

Idea 1 Circus People – I’ll ask Morwenna who’s introducing me to Cirque du Ciel, on tips for the questions to be put on the survey. Along with some of my own which rotate around what they are like and the thoughts on their own culture.

My first day for this is set Thursday 20th February and another day is several weeks later. Both days will have a varied array of talented subjects. It’ll be located in Cornwall

Practice shoots D E & F

Both are during some time in march…

D. Editorial – Firstly I’ll show how I choose to do simple edits depending on what is in the image and if it was badly captured I can retouch it using photoshop slidders.

E. Familiarising with the Sigma 10mm f2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye lens (Nikon) before planned skate culture idea. Tavistock’s outside area, one model walking so I’m able to get used to capturing the fast shots with this particular lens.

F. Nikon Speedlight SB-700 Flash Gun is an extra experiment for adding lighting to the frames when needed and if it goes well I’ll consider for other ideas it might seem useful.

Idea 3 Skate Culture

Equipment: Sigma 10mm F2.8 EX DC FISHEYE Lens (Nikon). Nikon Speedlight SB-700 Flash Gun.

I will practise with this equipment in the upcoming days toward my skate shoot and record the results on WordPress. Location is in Tavistock skate park but I am going to talk to the models and ask where they like skating also if we could all go to Uskate Tavistocks skate club on the same day.

My plans for this concept changed, a lot of them will now due to the COVID-19 Vuris. I’m using only one model now and Uskate club is cancelled. I shall still go to the skating park in Tavistock to take portraits of the skater and capture tricks using the fisheye lens.

I will follow my model jack around my newly isolated hometown of Tavistock as he skates through the abandoned streets I’ll be running, stopping, and quickly snapping. Now and then I’ll stop completely to switch lenses.

Ideas that I’ve decided on not doing

Prince Town: because of not knowing enough about the rural area, wouldn’t know what to do.

Individual Musical People: simply too boring It would just be a Women or man with an instrument.

Friends Dad Office Space: I haven’t contacted the persons involved in while and feel it would just get in the way of making better photos for the project. I also have other shoots in development that are similar even better than this plan.

FMP Surveys

For every shoot of the project, I’ll do independent surveys on individually of the subjects, topic or reasoning to why I have chosen the person, and finally their view on current British more pacifically their rural living area. Here I’ll show photographic examples of the written surveys and how I intend to record the answers.

I find a few questions will be the same on each survey along with some being completely based around the person and their interest. Questions for instances, Do you like or ever tried photography? as my first inquiry to break the ice of continuous conversations. How do you find Devon’s culture is coping in this worlds’/countries’ present state? as my last question.

Frist Practice Survey

_DSC0195.jpg

(Explain how it was useful to practice)

I’ll record using a dictaphone. It is a useful tool because I won’t have time to write my subjects’ answers down also use the answer in my evaluation, parts of texts for my final end product a book.

_DSC0001.jpg

The dictaphone came with a pair of earphones, charger, also a mini clip-on microphone at the price of £22.00. (remember to add to the budget)

Continued Research & Techinques

The class has been told to look back at my previous projects and pick 3 pieces of research and 3 techniques I am going to continue and develop further for my FMP. I have shared this too the classroom spreadsheet (called FMP Research & Techniques) which I have copied here.

Screen Shot 2020-03-01 at 14.26.23.png

Dmitry was all of my concept for my last terms project, approaching strangers is now less than half involved due to more developments in many other research and techniques.

Vivian Maier is related because I want close to the same range of diverse topics that are seen throughout her pictures in mine.

Platon methods of being polite, courteous and friendliness towards his subjects in prepared conversions. I am going to use surveys and portrait improvement as a way of reflecting Platon’s method but in an outer world rather than the studio environment.

Assessment Task

We were put into groups of two and given the task of assessing previous Year 2 FMP projects from former students. We assessed them in the areas the FMP is marked on which are Content, Research, Problem Solving, Planning and Production, Practical skills, Evaluation & Reflection and Presentation. You’ll see in the link below how well me and my partner Alex did and assessing the previous students.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/17RB4BmuTgqhz_4pmQlRXVHaF_j0FaDvp6oFcARtxj8U/edit

At the start, I thought this would be boring, useless and time-wasting exercise but after a while of doing the task, I found it very important also lucky to have it brought to my attention because it made me realise what is required in the marking process.

Screen Shot 2020-03-05 at 12.13.59.png   Screen Shot 2020-03-05 at 12.14.13.png

I another thing I’ve taken from this task is the fact I have these great examples of what not to do and what to do for my project so reach my highest grade possible.

FMP Documentary Photographers

Find a completely new documentary photographer that has relation with the concept.

The documentary genre can portray the topics of environmental, social and political issues depending on the photographers choosing of the story he/she are unravelling with their imagery. This genre has is mostly related to my concept just a bit more than street photography is because I am telling the stories of people I know and strangers, who nobody will have any clue about.

So it is my job to find then reveal an honest story which holds intriguing value also. So I don’t create a made-up image of a person through my own perception and I won’t bore the viewers as much.

You can see in my FMP proposal also in past blogs from the last term, my key inspiration is Dmitry Markov. I’m taking his concept of capturing strangers in the comfort of their own creative and work environments also random street snaps to represent the culture of the South West.

An astounding street/social photographer who documents, since becoming a recovered opioid addict, the occurrences of his life that stand out most and seem major to his continuous story. These images are all posted on his Instagram famous account.

Dmitry Markov

10441978_1231546230195621_8248511563018291568_n-800x600.jpgScreen Shot 2020-01-22 at 11.43.20.png

First heard of Markov just before the start of the second year because of an article on the Guardian website after being suggested by a friend. I was blown away with how unique I felt his style was, made me very intrigued by how the world of Russia really is in the eyes of a citizen living there. Dmitry is a former opioid addict, he finds art as his best release ‘A drug addict is never satisfied, he always wants more,’ Quote from Dmitry’s book Draft ‘Do not take it as a recommendation, but this kind of thirst might be very useful for a photographer. You are never satisfied with results, you always want to try again’ he continues to write. His book Draft was published in 2018 by Treemedia, it documents the lives of ordinary people in provincial Russia. He has grown a massive amount in his life in terms of success, born in Pushkino north of Moscow, 1982, was known as a street kid and an addict, then becoming, what he is today a social worker, volunteer, and journalist as well as a photographer. He began shooting on his iPhone after his camera was stolen from his room when he worked as a volunteer at an orphanage. Images shot on his phone were used in his book draft and posted on his Instagram page.

Screen Shot 2020-01-08 at 09.06.06.png

This is an eighteen-year-old getting a haircut before being released from an orphanage that Markov had been a volunteer at. This was also where his camera was stolen. Firstly what I really like about this image is the position of the hand over the teenagers’ head so you can’t see the actual haircut. It’s a great moment to take the picture as it leaves the forehead cropped only revealing features of the face. To me, there’s a mystery in this image due to the hidden hairstyle. The tattoo on the barber’s arm is a lucky touch that I find builds tension in the unknown story beyond the image.

Screen Shot 2020-01-08 at 09.05.37.png

There is lots of surly atmosphere within the image-derived from the expression/posture of the main subject which made me question why does the child seem so annoyed yet agitated in this single frame? It started to get me thinking maybe the photographer asked him too seem angry. Then I considered he could of just not been in the greatest of moods naturally. After noticing the wellies, I thought perhaps those are the only shoes he owns. Trying to figure this out made me realize, the only way to know why the kid is grumpy whilst the image was captured, is to go onto Dmitry Markov’s Instagram page and see what he had put for a caption and translate it. I sadly do not know how to do this but I like the mystery of guessing and just his creative style of pretty much all his work even though its all shot on just an iPhone.

Screen Shot 2020-01-08 at 09.07.24.png

I am surprised at the array of activities scattered across the image. Although all the subjects are in the same surrounding they show different states of emotions from the action they portray. He has managed to capture the boy flipping at such a decisive time and dead centre as a focal point.

Dmitry Markov describes his images, often showing unpleasant scenes, this is because he mentions them to be a part of his own life experiences not just being known by admirers as social photography. Markov’s technique, from research, shows that he travels around taking photographs in Russia from people he meets in social situations. Going through his Instagram page it obvious that he has multiple styles such as street photography, portrait and capturing animals.

Tom Barnes

4188020_8475358.jpg

I’ve discovered recently there are loads of similarities between some of Barnes and Dmitry’s close-up and Portrait pieces. Although Tom seems to be more prepared for each shoot, driven to produce his style which would take his own methods and strategies. Dmitrys’ tactics are completely opposite I think for most of his work he captures as wanders, venters out and discovers a scene that he finds unique. Only some of Toms work has relation as he’s an event photographer so some events have an impeccable resemblance. Barnes also says he is a self-taught, loves still life and portraits. Looking at his work it’s given me a few extra ideas also not being afraid of finding and trying out lots of angels.

Screen Shot 2020-03-05 at 10.16.12.pngScreen Shot 2020-03-05 at 10.15.55.png

His imagery has made me reflect on some of my ideas that include the older generation. I like these images because of the odd surreal complexities within them. Firstly the surrounding is of a fish dock as you can see the nets, behind secondly the woman with shiny glistening jewels and thirdly having very smiley complexion.

More Imagery and talk about Tom Barnes.

Martin Parr

Image result for martin parr

A British documentary photographer, photojournalist and photobook collector also has done acting and directing in the past. Several guest actor appearances for the BBC and was nominated for best director for his production of Hamlet at the Off West End Awards in 2013.

Martin Parr’s photographic work is described as anthropological which is the study of human beings and their behaviour also societies in the past and present. He also brings a satire look to some of the individuals in his work, shaming them with sarcasm and irony.

The use of colours in this portrait is every interesting, feel that the fact most of the background is brown and the man looking directly into lenses is wearing a suit of blue makes him stand out even more. He looks like he is in a pretty confined small space but has a clam relaxed yet serious face as if he is placed in that particular place for a responsible reason. The person the image is also stood right in the middle of the shot and looks like the photographer Martin Parr has pointed the camera purposely so he can see the man between the glass widow gap of the wooden door. This image was taken at oxford university.

Screen Shot 2018-10-08 at 13.35.43

This one was taken in Scotland where I reckon is outside of a pub where a man seems to be drunk on the floor, this brings out more of Parr’s satirical side because by taking a shot of this person it is ridiculing him with the impact he brings to his community and the image he presents to society. My idea is that Martin wants certain things to change throughout the world and that is what he is constantly trying to capture in photography and film.

I’ve chosen Martin for an artist study because I didn’t realise till recently that he does a phenomenal job of depicting a large variety of British culture even the separateness of lower and middle classes in one project (The Cost of Living).

The Cost of Living project has given me the awareness that I can take quick snapshots of people when they aren’t realising or aren’t as bothered from it. I’ve noticed that this tool comes and goes with confidence as Martin also agrees but he’s has a tactic when dealing with it. If a street photo goes wrong with a random person don’t let it stop you in your tracks take nothing by it and simply move on.

LON29294.jpgLON29328.jpgWithin not just this project but many Parr searches for what many people would consider cliches of society, Looks for the oddly familiar, actors of their own lives photographs them. He has said regarding his work that its not a negative outlook to his fellow man just an honest one.

Practices

A. Portraiture Framing – I think I’ll come back to testing different frames then add it to this blog because I’m not fully confident with it just yet.

1.jpg 2.jpg

For some reason, I only got full-body portraits and didn’t notice till now so yeah definitely need more practice with it. Next time around I’ll add the methods that I’ve researched like making conversions related to the subject and worldly topics, small talk is relevant as it’ll relax the model. I also will research and learn the different frames you able to do when taking portraiture.

In the two images above you can see that the left is of Ben looking out into the distance and in the next one, he looks directly into the lens. I asked because I want one picture of each person I find to look in the lens to create some humanist tones in my photography book.

3.jpg4.jpg5.jpg6.jpg7.jpg8.jpg9.jpg10.jpg

11.jpg

I was mistaken, didn’t notice but there were three other portraits in shorter frame sizes and all I did was slightly correcting with crops to make more straight.

12.jpg13.jpg14.jpg

B. Fast Movements – This was a test for myself to see if I could take images of moving objects with at least shutter speed noise/blur as possible.

C. Survey Tester – With the model from A & B Practices (Benedict) I made a test survey so I was prepared for the next day which was the first shoot of the whole project.

FMP Portraiture Photographers

The way I take portraits will be affected throughout my FMP, so I’ve decided to study Photographers whos’ speciality is how they conduct communication between their chosen subjects.

This is very important for me to develop. Reassuring positive communication is key for creating certain moods that make body language change, all depending on the topics you wish to discuss with the person you are photographing.

So a lot of thought has to go into what you think is best for the model to hear. You wouldn’t want to bring up anything that makes your model too uncomfortable and unwilling to have there picture taken.

Platon

A brilliant portrait photographer who has taken photos of people in the highest known places such as politicians, famous talents, acclaimed artist and fellow photographers plus multiple arrays of diverse projects.

In a lecture, we watched a documentary on what methods Platon uses to capture such captivating images. His techniques seem straight forward enough correct lighting, focusing on the eyes, use of the hands but two methods really stood out for me. He makes topics of conversion that only his individual subjects would know the answer for and his final method is everything he does is in preparation for that final initial snap of the camera.

He has made realize that the more interest and aware you are about the person you are photographing the better results you can get but you make sure the subject knows this if you want the success of your imagery guaranteed. This technique

Despite not doing any studio session for the concept in my FMP I am trying to take on the polite friendly vibe he has when photographing subjects. I’m also wanting to inhabit his gift of sparking their interests in certain discussions related to them or worldly problems to encourage whatever emotional reaction I can. Simultaneously, I’d like the model comfortable with the camera almost unaware and proud of my results after showing them.

So I’ve learned from Platon, other photographers like him also from reading it up online and in books, that the best technique is to bring up conversions which will spark differing emotions and relax the subjects about the activity of me taking their picture.

Jimmy Nelson

jimmy portrait

An international photographer who has such passion for photography that he considers video to be overwhelming with sound and movement when in his own words ‘a photograph just sits there quietly while you decide what it is saying’. He believes in what pictures can achieve for people everywhere as all of the work surrounds the remote, indigenous communities. Lives in London as a Fashion photographer who does commercial work. Each month aiming to make 15 editorial pieces. Majority of them going to big magazines such as The Guardian, Attitude, The Observer, i-D, Stella (Telegraph), Glass Magazine, Clash Magazine and Verities.

He also does commercial work for companies like Apple, Adidas, Fred Perry, Primark, White Stuff, CAT Footwear, Hunter Boots, Sperry Footwear, Gloverall, Sony Music, Atlantic Records, XL Records. Which all happens due to his connection with stem agency.

This was a suggested artist study going alongside the rest of my FMP research but I found from what I’ve heard from today’s lecturer that he brings great value to support my overall concept.

He studied abroad photography degree course at UWE which is where I’ll be next year in the media productions course. He then moved to London.

Todays’ lecturer Steve knows him personally as Benson work with him on his BMX Magazine, simultaneously Benson was working part-time for 10 years as an assistant for a fashion photographer. After awhile the magazine was completed in 2015 this was when Benson embraced becoming his own full Fashion photographer as he would have gained enough knowledge and confidence.

Apparently, he involves himself with each shoot no matter the topic. Too truly invest the time and attention toward the subject your photographing, inverse yourself fully for capturing that special moment or emotion.

This is how I am conducting the shoots for my FMP. Breathing in and out the intriguing points from stories/activities of individual people and creative groups for the amount of time I am given to later be captured. All my models and there chosen topics play a part in the community or others simply apart of society.

From looking through his pictures I can tell he’s very observant of people and what they are doing. If it’s when he travels country to country like to japan snapshotting locals or if it’s one to one with a subject he’s got a great understanding of when the perfect moment to capture is. To achieve this you have to have a lot of past experience and you’ve got to be very alert of what the model does facially and vigilant of what you’re saying to the model.

The composition of models is fully unique for each of the Commercial/Fashion shoots, for his personal projects (Estuary English, Sumo also Atlanta) where its either still life, landscapes or street photographs you can tell he takes more time with these. He waits for moments created by people in the street or with what he see’s up close or vast views to appear in front of him so he can snap quickly yet effectively.

I find this very relatable to my concept, I have developed a few of my own ideas also my tactics/methods are better off now due to the inspiration viewed in his projects. The countries Benson did his conceptions were (England, Atlanta, Japan).

FMP Portraiture Photographers

The way I take portraits will be affected throughout my FMP, so I’ve decided to study Photographers whos’ speciality is how they conduct communication between their chosen subjects.

This is very important for me to develop. Reassuring positive communication is key for creating certain moods which make the body language change, all depending on the topics you wish to discuss with the person you are photographing.

He has made realise that the more interest and aware you are about the person you are photographing the better results you can get but you make sure the subject knows this if you want the success of your imagery guaranteed.

So I’ve learnt from Platon, other photographers like him also from reading it up online and in books, that the best technique is to bring up conversions which will spark differing emotions and relax the subjects about the activity of me taking their picture.

Jimmy Nelson

jimmy portrait

Is an international photographer who has such passion for photography that he considers video to be overwhelming with sound and movement when in his own words ‘a photograph just sits there quietly while you decide what it is saying’. He believes in what pictures can achieve for people everywhere as all of the work surrounds the remote, indigenous communities. He does this in the hope of giving them a sort of a global perspective by showing their uniqueness and importance to the world we all experience, this will support them to be more resilient to the pressures around them.

Practices
